Lesson 3: Messy Desk Exercise

In this Exercise, we will be learning how multiple images can be used together to create a “Messy Desk” Aesthetic.

The first step will be to gather all the Media we will need. The first image will be of a Computer Monitor. The second image and third image can be snacks of your choice. Make sure that the Snack Images (In this case, Doritos and Mtn Dew) are Png images with black backgrounds.

Now, Let’s set up the Tracks we will need for this Project. The very bottom track will be the “Computer Image” track. For now, the only clip on our tracks should be the video we recorded.

Now, Let’s isolate the part of the video that we want to put “on the monitor.” Use the Razor Tool to make it a separate clip from the rest of the video.

Add the Desk image to the bottom track. The Video Preview will not change because currently our Video is covering the image.

Right Click on the Video Clip we placed on the On-Screen Video Track. Select Transform, and resize the clip so that it fits inside the Monitor of our Desk Image

Now we can start add in our Snack Images. Start with just one for now, in this case, the Mtn Dew can. Make sure to place the image on the “Snack 1” Track

Repeat the last step, but this time adding in our second snack., in this case, the “Doritos”

Make sure that the length of each component matches up with the others, as shown in the image to the side
