Students will explore the Dino Museum to learn how to excavate and identify the fossilized remains of these awesome creatures at a real dig-site. Explore our Dino Zoo to learn all about the habitats and diets of these prehistoric creatures. Discover the wonders of DinoDNA and work together to raise your own dinosaurs. Then build your very own Dino Amusement Park to showcase your scientific marvels. Your students will love this Dino-tastic class!

Minecraft University: Circuits & Electronics

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this class, students will explore electronics and circuitry in both, the virtual world of Minecraft and in the physical world, through hands-on projects. Create complex circuitry and electronics using Minecraft redstone, then build real world circuits to bring your crazy contraptions to life. Discover how to use redstone to create virtual logic circuits, diodes, sensors and amazing mechanisms. Then, go hands on to build real world circuits using customized conductive LEGO bricks allowing you to power and control your projects in an entirely new and exciting way.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Minecraft & Robotics are so much fun, we thought why not combine the two! Students play Minecraft on our custom robotics Olympics-style map to explore programming and robotics through fun games and challenges. Programming within Minecraft allows kids to explore problem solving and logic in a stimulating environment where they see the results of their programs instantly through their Minecraft robot. Students will learn programming concepts that can be applied to other higher-level languages like C# or Java. This is a great precursor to our MU: Python Modding course.

Students will learn how to build blocks and structures using programming and also discover how to create their own mini-games in Minecraft. Python may be simple to use, but it is a very high-level programming language and you will be amazed with what it can do!

In this high-level class, students create their own mods in Minecraft by learning Java! We’ll teach them how to make their own custom weapons, blocks and even biomes. Students unlock the secrets to programming and ignite their own imaginations by discovering how to add just about anything they can dream up straight in to the digital world of Minecraft. Students will learn to write code in Java, a powerful programming language used in everything from video games to the internet.

Our Minecraft University: California Missions program takes your kids on an expedition to explore the California Mission Trail and discover the amazing history of the missions all through Minecraft! Retrace the steps of the Franciscans by taking a journey up the El Camino Real and learn about the amazing history of the missions along the way, all without even stepping foot outside the classroom. Embark on quests to help Juniperro Serra, learn about the Native Americans and Spaniards, create aqueducts to help irrigate the surrounding lands, and even build your own Mission!

COURSE DESCRIPTION

“Eureka!” Strike it rich with this history-based course that allows students to embark on a journey to west in 1849. This class recreates numerous challenges faced by settlers during the gold rush and is a great opportunity for students to live history instead of just reading about it. After making the treacherous passage to gold rush country, students will have to stake their claims, pick occupations, establish a trade system, and of course find GOLD!
