In this creative and coding focused class, students will learn to build games and apps using visual block-based coding. Using code and lots of creativity, students will create animated stories and amazing 2D games. Then, learn the art of game design by creating your own versions of Nintendo classics, like Super Mario and Zelda. Students will then use MIT App Inventor, an application development program originally created by Google and MIT to develop their own custom apps for mobile devices. Students will learn to design and develop real, downloadable apps while continuing to learn the fundamentals of computer programming and software development. The programming concepts learned to transfer to traditional languages such as Python, Java or C#.
